Directions to meeting place

From the south the C-66 will take you to the N-260 and almost right to Besalú From the east go towards Roses and join the N-260 to Banyoles / Besalú

Route Description

From the free parking place we pass the old stone bridge into to old town and meet at the Plaça de la LLibertad where we can take a coffee before walking off. From there we’re going north through the town and cross over two bridges into the wood. Steadily we’re going uphill (150m) through wood, varies landscapes and nice views over the hills of the Garrotxa to reach the Sant Sepulcre de Palera, an ancient Benedictine monastery. The restaurant next to it should be open for coffee, and on the grounds outside we can have our picnic. On our back to Besalú we follow the beautiful GR2.

As most of the restaurants are closed on Mondays I propose everyone takes a picnic and enough water
