DESCRIPTION:Escola Hosteleria Cap Roig \nTaster Menu -talk about the aims of the college and kitchen tour\nWednesday 29th April – 13.00.   20 places. \nCookery Group members have priority.  In line with U3A rules priority is given to group members.  Guests may be invited after 22nd April.  \nThis college in Palafrugell trains young people to work in hospitality. As well as learning to\nprepare and cook food\, they develop people skills – from serving customers to mixing\ncocktails. They are encouraged to use any languages they know. So our U3A represents\ntheir future international customers. \nAs well as cooking and serving breakfasts to staff of the college and local people in the\nmorning\, they cook main dishes for sale to the public. Three days a week they offer\ndifferent lunch menus. This event is for the Wednesday Taster Menu. \nStarting with a cocktail mixed by the students\, there are 6 dishes – 2 starters\, 2 mains and 2\ndesserts. Red and white wine is offered with the mains. Cava and petit fours are served at\nthe end of the meal. The student chefs responsible for each dish will ask for your opinion\, answer questions and describe the contents of the dishes. You will be able to tour thekitchen with the head of the school after the meal if you wish. \nThe menu is fixed. The details will be put on the U3A website by 15th April. If you are allergic\nto any foods please inform the organiser. \nThe staff will prepare an alternative for any\ncustomers with food allergies or special diets. So as to include this in the training they would\nneed to be notified a week before the event. \nAfter the academic year ends in the summer the students generally find work in kitchens. In\njoining this Cookery Group event you are giving them real life experience and practise their skills. The head chefs are planning a menu that will appeal to our particular\ngroup. \nAfter the meal you may buy freshly cooked ready meals and cakes to take away.\nCost – €30. Including cocktail\, paired wines\, bread and water. Extra drinks can be\npurchased if required. \nPLEASE NOTE THAT ANY FOOD ALLERGIES SHOULD BE NOTIFIED TO THE\nORGANISER BY 19th APRIL.
