- Meet outside Can Cassoles Restaurant, Av/ de l'Esport, Llagostera. This is close to the municipal sports pavilion which has plenty of free parking. The restaruant should be open for those who want a drink/breakfast/toilet but please factor that in and arrive early.

- A pleasant walk in riverine forest along the old mill route along the Ridaura River. Moderate difficulty due the combined length (about 17km) and the ups and downs although almost all will be on the sandy farm/forest roads.

This walk into the hills near Llagostera will go into the Ridaura valley to visit the vestiges of old mills which speak to the history of the area. Although all are in ruins (one renovated into a homestead), the oldest dates back to the 14th century. The walk is in riverine forest, mostly along sandy and sometimes rocky farm/forest roads with some on more narrow walking trails. There are some ups and downs in the hills so it has some challenges although the total ascent is around 300m over about 17km. Some members might like to use walking poles for extra balance on the slopes. Difficulty could be described as moderate (level 5 in U3 guidelines). Walking time will be around 4-5 hours plus we will factor in a break along the way to snack on our packed lunches. The river will be crossed at various times - in mid-October it will probably still be dry but if there are significant rainfalls before the walk there may be some points where feet may get wet and/or muddy.
