We are a small group who meet on the third Monday of each month, except July, August and December, to walk for approximately 6 hours, over varied terrain from the coast to the Pyrenees. Unlike other walking groups we do not finish with a menu del dia, instead we take a packed lunch which is eaten at a suitable time and location during the walk.  Depending on the difficulty of the terrain and height gain, walks may vary in length between 15 and 20 kilometres.
All members are encouraged to lead a walk, advice and help on suitable walks is available from the more experienced Camels in the group. A maximum number of walkers is set for each walk depending on the distance and terrain, priority is given to members of the group but family and friends are welcome to join us if there is room. Advice on footwear, clothing and recommended kit is available for each walk. Details of the walks will be notified via the events page no later than 7 days before the walk.
Our previous outings in recent years have been varied and included the following walks:
Along the coastal paths, at Playa D'Aro, Tamariu , Begur, Calella,  Llafranc, Palamos, Roses and Cadaques.

A Linear walk from Portbou to Llanca along the coastal path, using the train from Flaca to get there and back.
From Torroella de Montgri via Castel Montgri along the ridge to the coast at L'Estartit, then along the beach and returning to Torroella along the banks of the Ter, or alternately up Roca Coubra before descending to L'Estartit.
From the lake at Darnius a circular route through the forests passing through Maçanet de Cabrenys.
Up to the top of Rocacobra giving us fabulous views of Girona and Banyoles.
The Serra del Catllar and the Serra Cavallera both with terrific views of the high Pyrenees such as Puigmal and Bastiment to the north.
From Club Golf D’Aro a circular walk passing Romanya de La Selva, Mas Riera and some large Oaks then descending through the valley passing Vall Repos before returning to the club house.
From the village of Vilamaniscle walking in the natural park, we passed Sant Silvestre de Valetta, an Ermita from the XI century, Sant Genis del Terrer, a small church from 974 AD, and some derelict Masias  that were refuges for those who were on their way to France to escape from the civil war.  Also in this area a walk from Garriguella.
Two excellent walks in the Collscabra, one up to Mare de Deu de Cabrera and the other at St Marti Sacalm.
From Oix in the Alt Garrotxa to Val de Bac and returning via Toralles

In the Ardenya from Les Penys to Rosamar and back, and up to the peaks including Puig Gross and Mont Clar.

The Gorge de Sant Aniol
From Sant Feliu de Palleros in the Garrotxa up to the Santuari de la Salut and the Coll de Condreu.

In the Gavarres from San Sadurni up to Santa Maria de Montnegre and Santa Pellaia before returning to San Sadurni.
Up to Nuria for superb views before descending back down.
