For our last wine tasting of the season before the hot summer hits us all and some disappear to homes in cooler locations, I present you with a wonderful treat...a visit to a winery called Mas Fuertes in Corca, just north of La Bisbal.
In 2005, a Dutch family discovered the beautiful Empordà region and started their dream vineyard with stunning sea views. What began as a small wine project grew into a flourishing business. Mas Fuertes now offers an extensive range of organic red and white wines, 100% cold-pressed organic Argudell olive oil, and organic honey from 3 million bees. The nvineyard retains its ethnci charm through charm manual picking of the grapes and olives along with conventional honey production. Organic methods are applied in the vineyards without synthetic chemicals and the wines are naturally fermented. At Mas Fuertes, tradition goes hand in hand with innovation. Every aspect of the estate reflects the family's values, including the labels designed by their youngest daughter. This is your chance to discover the wines of Mas Fuertes and taste the dedication, craftsmanship, and love for nature.
Our wine tasting will depend largely on how many of our membership come to the event...the more, the merrier (literally) as we will benefit form economies of scale...so please support the event if you can. However, generally, the tasting will include:
- A guided tasting of 2-3 extra virgin olive oils
- A guided wine tasting.
- A tasting of 2 artisanal honeys
- A selection of local snacks and accompaniments
What makes the experience particularly special is that it offers the opportunity to discover three authentic products of the Empordà - olive oil, wine and honey - in a single tasting.... and all crafted by the same family estate.
The price is €40 per person.
