Locos Xmas Ride

The annual Joint Cycle Group Xmas ride will take place this year , starting near Gualta.

There will be 3 options as to riding group, herewith the Locos choice of route .

Please choose the route that suits your needs: the Locos route primarily follows the Ter river banks eastwards from Verges towards Colomers , then reverts back via Foixa, with a Xmas festivity stop in the car park . Distance ca. 32 kms .

Directions to meeting place: Going past the pitch and putt golf course in Gualta , follow the GI 643 towards Serra de Daro , and after about 600 meters take a right hand turn down a farm track to the restaurant.
Route Description: Leaving the car park we follow the main road briefly to Serra de Daro, then cut off into farm trails all the way to the bridge near Verges. Crossing the river , we follow the banks of the Ter to Jafre and beyond to Colomers , where we take coffee. Then we cross over the river at the dam, and follow the river on the opposite side, climbing up to Foixa for a welcome Xmas refreshment. and some Xmas cheer. Finally we swing back through Fonolleras to Gualta . Good quality farm track throughout nearly all the route will enable a fairly fast pace , with only occasional climbs .
Meet time: 10.00 Coffee available at Can Patxei. Ride off at 10.15
